Agnieszka Karasch (b. 1975) is a visual and performance artist as well a teacher. She creates images in which means of expression and composition derive from the body's geometry. Existing as independent works of art, they also serve as an arena for visual performances, where notions of control, initiative and conflict are experienced through post-concensual collaboration with Another. Inspired by somatic studies, physical theatre, actor’s training, kinaesthetic exercises and selected pedagogies of the 70-ies and 80-ies, she consciously directs own aesthetic thinking towards collaborative teaching solutions, thus making own art and pedagogy inform one another. Her current works are a part of an artistic research in art education at Aalto University / School of Arts, Architecture and Design in Helsinki, Finland. Agnieszka is also a founder at Designo - Foundation for Visual Arts and a fouding member of Society for Artistic Research in Germany. For almost 20 years now, alongside her artistic carreer she has inspired and tought art to people of various ages.

BODY ACTIONS - a cycle of big format drawings (2x2 m – 4x4 m).The works are a  inspired by kinaesthetic exercises, physical theatre and mutuality training. They are a part of research conducted at Aalto University of Arts, Architecture and Design in Helsinki. The images imply a potential intervention of Another during class.

VISITS -  collection of drawings presents faces of German and Polish people born between 1920 - 30. Portrayed persons are often interviewed. All images are made during actual visits at preselected retirement houses of Poland and Germany. Names and stories of the individuals - not revealed.
